Hunger Games Injuries

This post is my first attempt at a weekly highlight, so let’s hope the trend continues!  I’ve been working a lot this week, and the only break in the monotony comes from buying groceries or school supplies.  I am actually super excited about my school supplies because I love fresh notebooks and folders.  I am also a huge fan of the planner because it lets me be super organized.  I even started color coding my events which is surprisingly relaxing.  I have been playing Xenoblade Chronicles in my free time this week as well as catching up on Faith and Naruto Shippuden episodes.  Don’t worry, my life wasn’t completely empty of social events because I had two parties this weekend!

I first attended a BBQ with some old high school friends Friday night and had a great time.  I haven’t seen a lot of them in a long time and I really enjoyed it.  It was especially good because the rest of my Friday really sucked.  My boss kept me 15 minutes late at work for no apparent reason.  A customer came in at closing and stayed for like ten minutes which really sucked.  I then went to the hellish campus bookstore at my college to pick up a textbook I ordered.  I use hellish in this instance because I work at a campus bookstore myself and hate them as a competitor.  They also have really bad customer service which pisses me off.  I like to be treated like a human in a store.  The book I ordered was a ridiculous $191.00, and I was already annoyed by it, but this was made even worse when I discovered what book I had picked up.  Turns out that it was the very same book that I used for Spanish 3 last semester.  I had given my old book away after the semester and had just bought the same piece of shit again for almost two hundred bucks.  I’m so glad that my professor had the consideration to tell me that I would need the book again (NOT).  The party was a great stress reliever after all of that.  My favorite parts were when a friend of mine tried her very first s’more and when some of us sat in a circle and spoke to each other in Spanish.  It was really fun.

My other party occurred today and it was a celebration of my best friend’s birthday.  She was having a Hunger Games party and we hosted it at my apartment.  We played Hunger Games, ate food, and watched the movie.  I was literally playing the game for one minute when I was pushed down and scraped up my arm.  It’s typical, I always get hurt at the most random times (like when I cut my finger open using normal scissors today at work).  My friends know me as “the clumsy one” because I suck at staying uninjured.  The food was delicious and the movie was great, but things were a bit stressful because I reached my introvert limit near the end of the party.  There were 15 people in my apartment talking, making a mess, and goofing off.  I got really stressed because it seemed like my house was getting so dirty.  Luckily I realized that I had fun after everyone had left and I had chilled out.  I was really happy to be able to host something in my own place.

One of the most important things that happened this week is that I have found some more time to blog.  I have really missed it and it is a huge stress reliever.  I’m glad that I have gotten back into the swing of things finally.  My friends finally finished Avatar: The Last Airbender and they cried so hard!  Was so proud of them for loving  a show I love so much.  Finishing shows has inspired me to get back on track with the anime I have been watching.  Expect some more reviews in a week or so along with another highlight.  Thanks for reading!
