Guilty Crown was one of my favorite anime series of the year. I discovered this one through tumblr, and one of the anime blogs I followed. They posted some really cool looking gifs of this series and I decided to look it up on hulu (where all of the episodes can be viewed currently). Little did I know how much I would get into this series! It was kind of a new type of anime for me because as of then I had only watched series that were newer ones that were already completed, older ones, or long-running ones like Naruto or Bleach. Guilty Crown was the first anime I watched that was ongoing and very exciting because of it’s normal amount of episodes (22, which is fairly normal for the anime I watch). This series seemed pretty good at first, but it is at about episode 10 where things get really crazy. The whole second season is very intense and I always had to keep watching. I was really glad a found this one by chance. Continue reading

Hey guys! It’s been a pretty stressful week, which is why I’m glad it’s almost over. I had to write a six page essay that I thought was supposed to be three pages so that sucked, but now I’m done! I was fairly frustrated with this paper because I’m in a Shakespeare class and my teacher told us to just pick whatever we wanted to write about. This is annoying to me because it makes everything so broad. I eventually decided to write about the importance of characters in King Lear who don’t have first or last names, just titles (like the fool and servants). The topic ended up being okay, but I tend to hate these kind of papers. This may sound like a really bad thing for an English major to say, but it makes sense to me because there are very few times when you can write an essay about something you actually care about, and I hate pretending to care about something.
Thursday is my big day for ongoing anime because both Naruto Shippuden and a new show I discovered, Guilty Crown are released on Thursdays. The biggest problem I have discovered is that now that Naruto is out of the fillers (THANK GOD) everything is really good and dramatic. AND Guilty Crown has always been really intense. I almost cannot handle that show because of how intense it is. Something shocking happens in literally every episode. I basically cry or at least audibly gasp in every episode (there are 19 so far).
Because of these two highly engaging plots I am ending my Thursdays with a bunch of emotions I don’t know how to deal with. I have tried to assuage them in many different ways, including posting a ridiculous amount of spam on Tumblr and staring blankly at my desktop background, which is currently cycled to a picture of Siwon posing in GQ (which is especially unhelpful because that boy makes me feel emotionally drained no matter what). I eventually ended up reading about 20 chapters of Kimi Ni Todoke to try to distract myself. This was very fulfilling because people were actually getting together and stuff (not typical of many manga sadly. They like to torture).
Here’s a rough rundown of my emotions: Continue reading
