Injustice Makes Kate Mad

It was recently brought to my attention that my old high school IS A PIECE OF POOP.  Sorry I have a lot of anger.  My high school is in the same town as my university, and I happened to hear in one of my classes about some big news.  A boy in my school came to school wearing a shirt that said “I like boys”.  This boy was quickly escorted to the main office, where he was told to change out of the shirt for the rest of the day.

I was really angry about this occurrence because I always thought my high school was pretty open-minded.  I knew a ton of gay people who were out and had never had too many problems with other students.  Yet all of a sudden the administrators are telling him to take off this shirt.  Why?  Maybe because it drew too much attention?  I know for a fact that I would never be asked to change my shirt if it said “I like boys”.  I do live in a very conservative state, but Jesus what is this shit?!

This boy is FREE to wear what he chooses.  I for one was bored enough to have read the dress code in the planner and there is nothing in there about wearing shirts that express your sexual orientation.  This is plain unfair and I am really upset.  If I still went there I know that I would be starting a movement to have every student wear an “I like boys” shirt the very next day of school.  No one should be stopping this boy from being who he is.

That’s all from the angry person.
